The city of Port Colborne is located on the north shores of Lake Erie in southern Niagara Region. This small city is a lively place with many visitors flocking to its beautiful sandy beaches in the summer.
Just 25 minutes away from Fort Erie and the Peace Bridge to Buffalo New York, Port Colborne is a summer destination for travelers from the U.S. as well as Canada. The popular H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park has a large greenspace, playground and splash pad for the kids, rose garden and large pavilion for covered picnics—and best of all it's right on the gorgeous waterfront.
Golfers will meet their match at the 27-hole Whiskey Run Golf Course in Port Colborne. Those up for getting their adrenaline pumping will love Humberstone Speedway, the local racetrack with fun weekly races of stock cars, trucks, and much more.
Mud Lake Conservation Area on the Welland Canal is a great place to hike and get a relaxing dose of nature. Nickel Beach is also a popular local favorite, and is the only beach in Ontario that allows visitors to drive their car right onto the sand and park.
During Canal Days, a three-day festival held in downtown Port Colborne on the water, vendors and restaurants set up to host visitors from all over the region who gather to enjoy food, fun and entertainment.
Despite its small size, new developments for single family homes are popping up more and more as this hidden gem's beauty is discovered by buyers leaving the hustle and bustle of the GTA, which is just 90 minutes away.
