HAMILTON

Updated: Oct 16, 2023

Hamilton, Ontario is a port city of about half a million people on the western edge of Lake Ontario. Traditionally seen as an industrial city due to its large steel manufacturing industry, Hamilton has in the last decade been evolving, with a growing service and health science sector. McMaster University, located in the west end Hamilton neighborhood of Westdale, is a highly esteemed public university which attracts students from all over the globe every year, boasting some of the most competitive programs in the country.

Downtown Hamilton is a vibrant urban centre with shopping and plenty of dining options. The large Hamilton Farmer’s Market in the heart of the city offers artisan goods, fresh produce, and authentic foods from over 50 vendors. The Art Gallery of Hamilton’s permanent installations as well as their curated exhibitions are a must-see for any art lover.

Hamilton Beach, Bayfront Park and many nature trails throughout the city are perfect for hiking, biking, and enjoying nature. More than 100 gorgeous waterfalls such as Albion Falls, Smokey Hollow Falls and Webster Falls can be found across Hamilton, and some nature and photography lovers make it their goal to see each one!

New development, intensive neighborhood revitalization and city-wide growth define modern Hamilton and make it a great value, an excellent investment, and an even better place call home.
